Children's Out of Home Care
Our Children's Residential program is designed to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and youth with complex special needs. We strive to ensure that each child can live and grow within, or as close as possible to, their home community while receiving the care and guidance they require.
Our mission is to empower children and young people to achieve their personal goals, build meaningful relationships, and become active, valued members of their communities. We are committed to maintaining strong family connections and natural supports throughout each child's journey. By fostering independence and providing ongoing individualized support, we aim to help every child reach their fullest potential and experience the highest possible quality of life.
At CL-NF, we recognize that every child is unique. Support plans are carefully tailored to reflect each individual's strengths, needs, and personal goals, ensuring they live in a secure home environment with the appropriate resources and professional assistance.
We serve children and youth from birth to 17 years of age, welcoming individuals of all genders and backgrounds who are compatible with current housemates. Prior to admission, we ensure that each child's needs can be fully met within our residential services and that appropriate funding is in place to support their individualized care.
CL-NF provides support for children and youth with intellectual disabilities and dual diagnoses, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and mental health challenges.
To promote holistic development and well-being, we coordinate and facilitate access to a range of professional services based on each child's unique needs. These may include counselling, psychiatry, medical care, occupational therapy, psychological services, and specialized educational supports.
